AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Fortunegiants' winning streak in season-6 of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League continued with the home team thrashing Bengal Warriors 35-23, here, on Friday. Gujarat have now won seven matches in a row this season while the Warriors suffered their second straight defeat.
In the second match of the evening, Jaipur Pink Panthers crushed UP Yoddha 45-28 in a one-sided encounter. It was some superb display by Panthers' defender Sandeep Dhull (5 points) and raider Deepak Hooda who scored 10 points.

Earlier, Gujarat raiders ruled the mat especially in the second half and the home outfit kept their record intact of not losing a match at this venue since the last season when they had an unbeaten run, winning five matches and settling for a tie in one.
The visitors dominated the game till the half way mark in the first session but they were unable to recover from an All Out just before the half time. Warriors' Maninder Singh and Jang Kun Lee couldn't live up to their expectation in the closely contested first half with both the teams playing an attacking game. It was only in the 14th minute that Gujarat had the advantage as they inflicted an All Out to lead 14-11. Gujarat led 19-14 at half time. Gujarat enjoyed a healthy 12-point advantage at the fag end of the encounter.
"I am very happy that our unbeaten record at home remained intact this season too. The boys have picked up the momentum and the team is really shaping well," remarked Manpreet Singh, the coach of Gujarat Fortunegiants, after the match.
In the game played later, Panthers were off to a flying start right from the word go and established a commanding 20-15 lead in the first half and maintained it in the second half to win the contest.
