Parts of Odisha have been affected by Cyclone Daye, and this is also causing the weather in Kolkata to turn. As of now, the cyclone in Odisha has crossed the coast near Gopalpur, which caused heavy rain in parts of the state.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also alerted fishermen who work along the coast of West Bengal, and the coast of Odisha. Cyclone Daye reportedly crossed southern Odisha along with adjoining Andhra Pradesh. Parts of Malkangiri in Odisha have also reportedly flooded as per news this morning. Certain districts of Odisha, such as Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Koraput, and Nabarangpur received heavy rainfall, and cyclonic wind.

The deep depression that has resulted in Cyclone Daye is also causing rains in West Bengal,
and Kolkata is experiencing heavy rains. IMD has in fact also forecasted rains in Maharashtra caused by the Cyclone Daye.

Travellers are advised to practice caution when travelling to Odisha and parts of West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The cyclone in Odisha is currently causing the sea to be in a rough state, especially over central and north Bay of Bengal, and off the coasts of Odisha, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh.
