The longest ropeway in India is set to come up in Guwahati in April 2019 to offer beautiful views of the natural landscapes of the city.
Reportedly, the 2 km-log ropeway extends over the Bramhaputra River, which would allow the tourists to travel from Guwahati to North Guwahati. On the way, tourists can behold the magnanimous Bramhaputra River, Umananda Temple, Urvashi Island and Peacock Island. The cable car will not just help people absorb the stunning vistas of the city, but also reach from one part of the city to another part in a shorter duration!

News has it that every cable car will be able to accommodate 30 passengers. The points of travel have been chosen to be Kachari Ghat at Pan Bazaar to Dol Govinda Temple in North Guwahati. It would take about 8 minutes to cover the distance between the two points.

The cable car cabins have been especially imported from Switzerland, whereas the tower materials are from Kolkata and Delhi. Accomplished Swiss designer Garaventa AG has been commissioned the job of giving technical support for giving shape to the cable car’s profile.

So, those are planning a trip to Guwahati in April can look forward to add a joyride in the cable car to their travel itinerary.
