Artists are busy giving finishing touches to Narakasura masks at a workshop in Panaji in view of the fast approaching Diwali festival. Effigies of demon Narakasura are burnt in the wee hours of Diwali, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. Depending on the size, Narakasura masks are priced between Rs 100 and Rs 2000. The practice of burning Narakasura effigies are very special to Goa.
