LARAMIE — Wyoming basketball’s lone commitment is now officially a Cowboy. Smoky Hill High School (Aurora, Colorado) guard Kenny Foster signed his National Letter of Intent with the Cowboys on Wednesday. Ranked a three-star prospect in the 247Sports composite ratings, Foster verbally committed to Wyoming on Sept. 21 before putting pen to paper on the first day of the early signing period.
“We are excited to add Kenny to our program,” Wyoming coach Allen Edwards said in a statement. “We have really seen him grow as a basketball player and have spent a lot of time with him this summer and fall. This is a tremendous addition to what we are doing here at Wyoming.”
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Foster has started for Smoky Hill since his freshman season, averaging 17.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 steals for his prep career. He was an all-state selection last season in helping Smoky Hill advance to the Great 8 of Colorado’s Class 5A state tournament.

“Kenny understands how to play the game the right way,” Edwards said. “He has the ability to score the basketball on all three levels. He is a great rebounder and a tremendous athlete that fits the mold of the players we want in this program.”
Foster is the only member of Wyoming’s 2019 signing class, and the Cowboys will only be able to sign one more player barring any transfers or other scholarship reductions after this season. Wyoming is at the 13-scholarship limit but will lose two scholarship seniors in Justin James and Jordan Naughton.
