A 22-year-old Pittsburgh man wanted for a November double homicide in the city’s Homewood neighborhood was arrested Monday in Philadelphia, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Darryl Barnett was taken into custody at 7:30 a.m. by the marshals of the Philadelphia Violent Offender Task Force after an extensive investigation involving Pittsburgh police and authorities from the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force of the Marshals Service and their counterparts in Philadelphia.

Barnett was wanted in the Nov. 13 shooting deaths of Kierra Eddisha Harris, 26, and Lavon Sizemore, 29, in Homewood.

Pittsburgh police responded to a Shotspotter alert at about 10:40 p.m. on Nov. 13 and found Sizemore dead next to a parked vehicle and Harris in the street with gunshot wounds near the corner of Kelly and Collier streets.

Sizemore was shot in the neck and Harris was shot in the neck and chest, according to a criminal complaint.

A witness told police they were involved in a child custody argument with Harris, who came to the area with Sizemore, according to the complaint.

The argument continued outside and Barnett and his girlfriend arrived, and the shots were fired, according to the complaint.

Barnett was identified through an anonymous tip to police, and the witness identified him as the shooter, according to the complaint.

Barnett is facing two counts of criminal homicide and two gun violations.
