Pennsylvania reports 356 new coronavirus cases, 12 more deaths

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 12 new covid-19 deaths and 356 new cases Monday.

That brings the state’s total case count to 72,282, with 5,567 deaths.

It’s the lowest number of new cases reported in a day since March 25.

The state considers 616 patients as probable cases, which have not been confirmed.

Nursing and personal care homes account for 15,545 cases among residents and 2,663 among employees. There have been 3,557 coronavirus deaths and nursing and personal care homes.

The virus has been found in 608 nursing facilities.

Health care workers account for 5,463 coronavirus cases.

Currently, 57 counties are in the yellow or green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s three-tiered reopening plan. The first 18 counties moved to the green phase Friday.

All remaining red counties are expected to move to yellow by June 5.
