Fellow Earthlings, we’re in for a bittersweet return to Roswell, New Mexico.
When the CW drama’s second season premieres on Monday, March 16 (9/8c), our girl Liz (Jeanine Mason) finds herself torn between the devastation of Max’s (Nathan Parsons) recent sacrifice and the unfathomable return of her sister (new series regular Amber Midthunder).
Per the episode’s official synopsis, “Liz suppresses her grief to focus on moving out of Roswell with Rosa.” (Excuse me, move out of Roswell? On Roswell, New Mexico? Good luck with that.) Then comes a most unfortunate twist: “Liz makes an alarming discovery after Rosa begins experiencing mysterious side effects from her resurrection.”
Meanwhile, Isobel (Lily Cowles) “focuses her attention on honing her alien powers” in the wake of her brother’s untimely demise.
Click here to see exclusive shots of Liz enjoying an emotional moment with her dad and Maria (Heather Hemmens), as well as a closer look at Isobel’s fierce funeral fashion. We also have a bonus sneak peek of Alex (Tyler Blackburn) and Michael (Michael Vlamis) locked in what appears to be a serious lover’s quarrel. Perhaps it has something to do with the “self-destructive way” Michael chooses to cope with Max’s death.
Roswell, New Mexico also stars Michael Trevino as Kyle Valenti and Trevor St. John as Jesse Manes. And as we learned at New York Comic-Con, Jason Behr (TV’s original Max Evans) and Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights) will also recur in the CW drama’s sophomore season. Charles will play Bronson, “a local farmer with a strong moral compass,” while Behr’s role remains shrouded in secrecy.
The season premiere, appropriately titled “Stay (I Missed You,” was written by executive producer Carina Adly MacKenzie and directed by Lance Anderson.

Damn I can’t wait
Wait? They are not really killing Max are they?
Nah, Max’s actor has been to all the comic conventions and interviews. He’ll be back, resurrected, etc, eventually. The question is how?
I doubt this will happen but I would love if it ended up being some sort of multiple dimensions or parallel universe thing and the original really happened and Jason Behr is playing original Max. but anyway, that Isobel funeral outfit is AMAZING.
Now all I need is a promo trailer.
It’s been a long wait between seasons.
Really loved the first season. Looking forward to the next. March 16th can’t get here fast enough.
Isabelle could also be at her husband’s funeral rather than Max’s. Especially since he’s not coming back (as a series regular) while Max is.
I agree. I think it’s her husbands funeral.
Max will be back, Isabelle will put him in his egg thing machine, so he can regenerate. The character May not be seen this season, but he will return, hopefully at the seasons end.
I don’t like that Nathan will not be in season2 . I liked him in the originals, and I’m kinda pissed
He is in season 2. He’s still a series regular and is on the season 2 poster.
Ahhhh!!!! Just fan grilled out about Jason Behr. I wanted the original series and I’d love him to take over!
it took me a solid 10 minutes to calm down about his return
Am I the only that it’s weird that Maria seems to be wearing black leather to a funeral? I also hope she’s not left in the dark for much longer about the aliens especially if she’s going to be with Michael at some point. I want her to be involved more in the storylines, Maria may even be a key factor in Max’s resurrection once her mysterious family history is explored.
So I messed up but I really need Alex and Michael to end up together.
All these story lines are fine, but the show is not Roswell without Max
