CONWAY — With Southland Conference play on the horizon next week with a two-game trip to Incarnate Word and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, the Sugar Bears wrap up non-conference action on Sunday in the Farris Center at 3:00pm against crosstown foe Central Baptist College.
It will be the 10th straight year the teams have met, with the Sugar Bears leading the all-time series 10-0 including a win in 2003 in the first-ever meeting. Since resuming the series in 2010, the Sugar Bears have easily handled the NAIA Lady Mustangs, winning the last 9 meetings by an average of 49 points per game. Last season's 55-34 Sugar Bear victory was the closest game in series history.
In last year's meeting,
Taylor Sells had 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals for the Sugar Bears. In 2017, she had 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals in the 75-34 win over the Lady Mustangs.
Sunday will be Ugly Sweater Day in the Farris Center, and fans will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Sana Bruce D. Bear. Fans who bring a new or gently-used toy for the Community Champions Toys For Tots drive will receive $5 off their ticket price.
It will be the final home game for the Sugar Bears until Jan. 1, when the Sugar Bears host Houston Baptist at 1:00pm.
