Bowman, Georgia has officially declared Saturday, April 27th as ‘Mecole Hardman Day’, the town’s Twitter account posted on Tuesday.

Bowman City Hall as well as all local government offices will be closed as the city honors Hardman likely being selected in the NFL Draft on Friday or Saturday. Hardman is currently projected as a 3-4 round draft pick.

If you are wondering how to greet others on Saturday, Hardman has your answer.

Hardman, an alum of Elbert County High School and resident of Bowman, Georgia, came to UGA as a five-star prospect in the class of 2016 and went on to a successful career in Athens.

Hardman finished his final season at Georgia with 35 receptions for 543 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He also added five carries for 32 yards and returned 16 punts for 321 yards and a touchdown and 14 kicks for 353 yards.

According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the New England Patriots are eyeing Hardman in the 2019 NFL Draft.  He is one of a handful of receiver to have his name thrown around by the Patriots. Given New Englands recent history with Georgia players in the draft, it makes sense to predict that Hardman is near the top of their draft board for receivers.

Along with Hardman, the Patriots have also hosted Mississippi’s A.J. Brown, South Carolina’s Deebo Samuel, Arizona State’s N’Keal Harry and Baylor’s Jalen Hurd.
