Residents and stakeholders in Uinta County and Summit County, Utah, can learn more about the Echo Divide Wind Park, a proposed wind project in eastern Summit County, by attending a public open house in Coalville, Utah. Enyo Renewable Energy and the City of Coalville will host the open house Thursday, June 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ledges Event Center, 202 Park Rd., Coalville, in the multi-purpose room.
The Echo Divide Wind Park will use approximately 39 turbines to generate up to 100-megawatts of electricity, which is capable of powering the equivalent of approximately 21,730 Summit County homes per year. It will be located along the Utah-Wyoming border south of Interstate 80 in eastern Summit County, Utah, approximately 7 miles southwest of Evanston.
Enyo Renewable Energy is working with landowners, Summit County, Uinta County, and their respective citizen boards throughout this process. Completion of the Echo Divide Wind Park will help Summit County reach its energy goals by the year 2030. Additionally, the Echo Divide Wind Park will generate property tax revenue for Summit County taxing entities. The benefiting entities include the schools, hospital, recreation services, and the library system among others. For Uinta County, this project will also create construction jobs, boost the lodging industry, and bring other sources of revenue to local businesses.
At the meeting, participants can submit written comments on a comment form and discuss the project directly with the Enyo Renewable Energy Team. People can also comment at the Echo Divide Wind Park website, echodividewind.com, or by email at info@echodividewind.com.
