Three years after opening Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken at Downtown Summerlin, brothers Bruce & Eric Bromberg opted to close the restaurant, one of four they own in Las Vegas with a fifth on the way at Red Rock Resort.

“We have decided to close the Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken location in Summerlin in order to concentrate our efforts at our location on the Vegas Strip at Bally’s Grand Bazaar,” the Blue Ribbon team wrote in a statement to Eater Vegas. Employees were offered employment at the Grand Bazaar Shops location at Bally’s.

The fast-casual restaurant at the northern end of the Summerlin shopping center featured a less greasy chicken dipped in egg whites, coated with matzo meal and a special spice blend, and fried.

In December, the Bromberg brothers plan to open Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya at Red Rock Resort in the former home of Libre Mexican Cantina, which closed at the end of June.

The Japanese-style tavern features a traditional sushi bar with indoor and outdoor seating.

The Brombergs also have Blue Ribbon at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq Promenade.

The original Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill closed at the Cosmopolitan in January 2015 to be replaced by Zuma.
