First proposed back in 2015, Utah-based Bruges Waffles & Frites has finally found a home in Las Vegas and filed paperwork to begin construction in the southwest.

Created by Belgium-born Pierre Vandamme and now expanded to three fast-casual locations, the first out-of-state franchise will head south of Summerlin and into the under construction retail center at 5660 Hualapai Way.

Specializing in “authentic Belgian waffles and fries,” the 903-square-foot space sits a short distance from Russell Road and an existing PT’s Gold tavern.

Yet to be announced and without an estimated opening date, the Utah menus also add “Flemish stew,” sandwiches, hot dogs, and “Croque Monsieur” lunch combos.

Unusual items include the “Machine Gun Sandwich” created with a baguette “stuffed with 2 Morgan Valley merguez (our secret recipe) lamb sausages, andalouse dipping sauce and frites,” a “Waffle Monster” and the sweet and savory chicken waffle, made with “chicken tenders combined with the sweet caramelized waffle and whipped cream.”
