Triple-A baseball teams aren’t always known for their stadiums, but the Las Vegas Aviators debut a beauty when they open at home Tuesday night. The $150 million stadium next to Downtown Summerlin features all the bells and whistles, including a swimming pool in right center field, local chefs creating the menus, and a wall of beer for fans to swill.

The 10,000-seat Las Vegas Ballpark replaces Cashman Field, the minor league team’s home since 1983. Now the farm team for the Oakland A’s has 22 suites overlooking the action, a club level complete with a show kitchen for cooking displays, and chefs such as Giada de Laurentiis, Mike Minor at Border Grill and BBQ Mexicana, Brian Howard at Sparrow + Wolf, Josh Clark at The Goodwich, and more cooking up the baseball fare. Tenaya Creek Brewery even brewed a seasonal ale for the team. Here’s a look at what to eat and drink at the new Las Vegas Ballpark, home of the Aviators.

Giada De Laurentiis

Television personality Giada De Laurentiis, who has Giada at the Cromwell and Pronto by Giada at Caesars Palace, plans to serve orzo meatballs, gourmet pizzettes, and Italian salads with a California twist to all suite and club-level fans. Her frosé is the official drink of the venue and will be served stadium-wide.

BBQ Mexicana

The Mexican barbecue restaurant from Border Grill co-owners Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger and chef Mike Minor heads to the outfield at the ballpark. Fans can order a burnt ends burrito stuffed with brisket, chipotle coleslaw, manchego cheese, and barbecue mole sauce; an avocado chicken burrito filled with mesquite smoked chicken, crispy potatoes, red rice, cilantro coleslaw, black beans, and avocado cream; a smoked tofu bowl with cilantro lime rice, habanero barbecue sauce, charred corn relish, quinoa, cowboy caviar, and smoked almonds; a BLTA salad with baby romaine, heirloom tomatoes, avocado, mesquite smoked bacon, chili lime ranch, and garlic croutons; and margaritas.

Flydog

Brian Howard of Sparrow + Wolf created the hot dogs and sausages for Las Vegas Ballpark through Flydog at three locations throughout the main concourse. Versions include the Heater, a hot link with Calabrian chili relish, Kewpie mayo, spicy mustard, and parmesan cheese on a potato bun; Hercules, a foot-long, bacon-wrapped Hebrew National topped with dry-aged beef chili, pickled mustard seed, and sweet onion jam; Jetsetter with Snake River Farms wagyu beef, banh mi pickles, and cilantro mayo; and Chicago Smokehouse with a smoked cheddar brat, neon relish, peppers, and tomato on a poppy bun. Flydog resides by sections 103 and 112 and behind centerfield.

The Goodwich

Craft Cocktails by Tony Abou-Ganim

The Las Vegas-based bartender Tony Abou-Ganim created the drinks for Las Vegas Ballpark. The Tito’s Turbulence, Summerlin Swizzle featuring Bacardi, and a lime margarita with Herradura are among the cocktails. Las Vegas Ballpark will feature craft cocktails at all flagship bars and an artisanal ice program in the club and suites.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, Ferraro’s Italian, and Me Gusta Taco

Aviators fans can pick up Las Vegas-born Capriotti’s sandwiches such as the cheese steak and Bobbie sandwiches behind section 108.

Ferraro’s offers a Sicilian pizza lineup behind left field.

Me Gusta Taco has a fusion-style pork belly banh mi, along with pollo and carnitas tacos, and vegetarian options behind section 111.

Baseball Fare

Local chefs plan to take over the club’s show kitchen and serve baseball fare and their own greatest hits throughout the season. Elizabeth Blau and chef Kim Canteenwalla of Andiron Steak & Sea and Honey Salt; Shawn McClain of Sage and Five50 Pizza Bar at Aria and Libertine Social at Mandalay Bay, and James Trees from Esther’s Kitchen are already part of the upcoming lineup.
