In-state 3-star CB chooses Ole Miss over Tennessee, others

Although Tennessee has been red-hot on the recruiting trail for the last few months, most of the top prospects in the 2021 recruiting class are not in-state talents.

Another in-state prospect announced his commitment on Sunday, as three-star cornerback Kyndrich Breedlove declared he will attend Ole Miss to play for Lane Kiffin.

Breedlove is from Nashville, and attends Pearl-Cohn High School, a powerhouse in class 3A. The 247Sports composite rates Breedlove as the No. 31 athlete in the country and No. 14 player in Tennessee. Auburn, Georgia, Baylor and several others joined the Vols as teams to miss out on him. Wide receivers coach Tee Martin and defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley were assigned to Breedlove as his lead recruiters for UT.

24 players are committed to Tennessee’s 2021 recruiting class, with only two in-state players in three-star wideout Walker Merrill from Brentwood and three-star running back Elijah Howard from Chattanooga.
