Weston officials on Monday voted to continue planning for opening the Weston Aquatic Center, but will not make a final decision until June 1 whether to do so.

Weston announced in early April the village would stop selling season passes and taking swim lesson signups, but has not yet determined whether opening the facility makes sense for the village.

Members of the board curing their Monday meeting, discussed ways to safely allow the public to enjoy the pool and agreed to begin drawing up a plan for opening, should the decide to open when a final vote is taken.

Wausau is also waiting until June 1 to make a decision on municipal pools, but the Rothschild/Schofield Aquatic Center opted to keep their facility closed for 2020.
