Viewing and Funeral Planned for West Hartford Resident Johnny Benjamin-Adams

Johnathan Benjamin-Adams of West Hartford, who died in West Virginia, will be laid to rest Friday, Aug. 7.

The following information was provided by the family of Johnathan Benjamin-Adams, whose death several weeks ago in West Virginia, where he was living with extended family, was ruled a homicide on July 21 by the Hampshire County (WV) Sheriff’s Office.

The plans for Johnny’s viewing and funeral are as follows:

  • Viewing on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, for the children in the family, Johnny’s friends from school: 4-5 p.m.
  • Viewing for the Benjamin Family (Johnny’s maternal family) will be from 5.30-6.30 p.m.
  • Viewing for everyone else will be from 7 -9 p.m.

The viewing will be held at the Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT 06106

The funeral service is Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at 9.30 a.m. sharp at 62 Tumblebrook Lane, West Hartford, CT 06117

Immediately following the service, there will be a burial at Fairview Cemetery, Pleasant Street, West Hartford, CT.

All CDC guidelines for COVID-19 will be observed, including:

  • Social distancing
  • Wearing masks 
  • Sanitizing hands
  • No congregating outside the funeral home.
