Here's our latest weather outlook for India.
Tuesday
The depression (low-pressure area) around Haryana has weakened now; however, heavy rain is still a possibility in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Due to the wind shear line persistent over North Eastern India, heavy rains are likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from Tuesday until Thursday. Dense fog can be expected around Manipur, Tripura and Mizoram on Tuesday night.
Heavy rains are also expected in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, as the wind convergence continues over southern India. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has put Kerala, southern Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu under the yellow alert for today and tomorrow meaning that the situation must be watched.
High temperatures of over 40°C will continue in Rajasthan and Gujarat until next week.
Wednesday and beyond
A cyclonic circulation has formed off the west of Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the Bay of Bengal. This circulation is forecast to move westward and dominate over Southern India from Wednesday until Friday. The cyclonic circulation can bring heavy rain around Southern India states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh from Tuesday until Thursday.
The maximum temperatures would be higher than normal across Western, Southern, Eastern and Northeastern India. Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram will experience warmer conditions until Saturday. The temperatures are expected to be normal across Central and Northern India, in the states of Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh from Tuesday to Wednesday.
