Here’s our latest weather forecast for India

Monday

A cyclonic circulation over northeast India, induced by a western disturbance, is likely to cause strong thunderstorms in the region. Up to 50mm (24-hour) precipitation is expected over Sikkim until Tuesday. Assam and Meghalaya are expected to receive scattered rainfall and thunderstorms. Arunachal Pradesh will also receive scattered snow and thunderstorms during this forecast period.

A convergence of winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal over southern India, will lead to weather instability in the region. Scattered rain and thunderstorms is likely across southern Karnataka and Kerala this week. Favourable monsoon conditions over the Bay of Bengal will also bring widespread rainfall and thunderstorms over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

According to The Weather Channel's meteorologists, Jammu and Kashmir will also experience isolated snowfall this week.

Maximum temperatures of 40°C and more are likely over Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Telangana.

Air quality will remain 'poor' to 'very poor' across India. However, major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata will experience a significant drop in air quality.
