Wednesday - Nationwide Forecast
A long trough that extends from Western Himalaya to Himalaya stays basically over the Sub-Himalayan Range.
50mm/24 hour or more of accumulated precipitation is expected over Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Heavy rain is likely over Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and northern Maharashtra.
Widespread thunderstorms are expected over eastern Gujarat, Konkan coast, much of Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan.
Lastly, fairly widespread thunderstorms are likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
Thursday and Beyond - Nationwide Forecast
On Thursday, very heavy rain is likely over Madhya Pradesh and southern Rajasthan, whereas heavy rain has been forecast over Assam.
Widespread thunderstorms are expected over eastern Gujarat, Konkan coast, much of Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, northwestern Madhya Pradesh and much of Rajasthan. Fairly widespread thunderstorms are possible over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
50mm/24h or more of accumulated precipitation is expected over Assam from Thursday midnight to afternoon.
Convection on the Konkan Coast due to the convergence of the westerly winds from the Arabian Sea is expected to continue at least until Friday.
50mm/24h or more of accumulated precipitation is expected over Kerala until Thursday dawn.
A low pressure system near Chhattisgarh is moving west, and in 3 days it will move to Rajasthan. Then, it will alter its course to north-northeast and move to NCR this weekend, weakening its power.
100mm/24h or more of accumulated precipitation is expected over Madhya Pradesh and southern Rajasthan on Thursday.
Especially in Rajasthan, torrential rain with thunderstorms are partially expected from Friday midnight to Saturday morning.
Max temperatures will be 4 to 8 degree Celsius lower over Punjab, Haryana, northern Rajasthan and Delhi for the next 5 days. Max temperature in Delhi will be approximately 30 degree Celsius from Friday.
