Wednesday - Nationwide Forecast
The monsoon is active or normal over Central and North Eastern India.
Rainfall activity will decrease over Northern, Central and Western India from October 2. In particular, significant decrease in rainfall is likely over Western Himalayan Region, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
A well marked low pressure area is located over Madhya Pradesh. The low pressure area will produce heavy rain and thunderstorms over east Madhya Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh.
A cyclonic circulation is located over West Bengal and adjoining areas. Moreover, humid southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal intrude over North Eastern India. The cyclonic circulation and humid winds will produce heavy rain and thunderstorms over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
A cyclonic circulation is over interior Karnataka and adjoining areas. It will produce fairly widespread rains over interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Here’s the rainfall breakup w.r.t. intensity for Wednesday:
- Heavy rain and thunderstorms: East Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
- Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms: Assam, Meghalaya, interior Karnataka and Kerala.
- Scattered rain and thunderstorms: Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, coastal Maharashtra, Goa, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- Isolated rain and thunderstorms: West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, interior Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Thursday and Beyond
There are no heavy rain areas all over India on Thursday.
Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, coastal Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Isolated rain and thunderstorms are possible over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat and interior Maharashtra.
