For the next five days, it will rain in the Northeast, East and South India due to troughs. However, heavy rain is only expected in Northeast India.
The heavy rain in Northeast India until Thursday will be caused by warm and moist air on lower layer brought by southerly winds from the Bay of Bengal.
Dry weather is likely to continue over North and Central India.
Judging from the weather forecast and precipitation in East & Northeast India, the withdrawal of southwest monsoon can start at least on October 12, Saturday.
Tuesday - Nationwide Forecast
Heavy rain is likely over Arunachal Pradesh and northeastern Assam. Especially, torrential rain with thunderstorms is expected over the state border between Arunachal Pradesh and Assam from Tuesday morning to afternoon.
Fairly widespread thunderstorms are likely over Konkan Coast, Malabar Coast, inland Karnataka, Odisha,West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland.
Wednesday - Nationwide Forecast
Heavy rain is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, especially from Wednesday morning to Thursday dawn.
Fairly widespread thunderstorms are likely over much of Northeast India, West Bengal, Odisha, northeastern Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
