Friday - Nationwide Forecast
Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn over most of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Rajasthan, some areas of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan.
Dry weather is likely over Northern, North Western, most areas of Central India and some areas of Eastern India. Dry weather areas persists, and will spread gradually.
A cyclonic circulation is over Southern India and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea. It will produce heavy rain and thunderstorms over Southern India.
A cyclonic circulation is over West Bengal and adjoining areas. It will bring isolated to scattered rain and thunderstorm over Eastern India on Friday.
Southwesterly humid winds from Bay of Bengal will produce fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms over North Eastern India on Friday, and the rainfall will then gradually weaken.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely over Maharashtra, Goa, interior Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms have been forecast over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Andhra Pradesh.
Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Odisha, Telangana and coastal Karnataka. Isolated rain and thunderstorms are possible over Sikkim, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Dry weather is likely over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Saturday and Beyond
Northeast Monsoon is likely to be normal this year. Precipitation from October to December over southern India is expected to be normal.
Southerly winds over Bay of Bengal have been forecast to turn northerly from next week.
Conditions of Southwest Monsoon withdrawal are favorable over remaining areas of northwest India, most areas of Central India and some areas of Eastern India in a few days.
On Saturday, heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely over interior Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are possible over interior Karnataka, whereas scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Odisha, coastal Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and coastal Karnataka.
Isolated rain and thunderstorms have been forecast over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Dry weather is likely over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
