Deep Depression over the Arabian Sea
The Deep Depression is located over east-central Arabian Sea (near 15.8N 71.3E) and tracked east-northeastward at 10km/h during the past 6 hours at 24/2330IST. It turns northward on Friday morning and then turns west-northwestward on Friday afternoon. The Deep Depression is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm on Friday.
Heavy to very heavy rain is likely over the west coast of Southern India and south Western India on Friday and Saturday. Strong winds are likely along and off north Maharashtra. Sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough over east-central and northeast Arabian Sea and coast, and off of north Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa and south Gujarat on Friday.
Rains over Eastern and Northeastern India
A cyclonic circulation and related low pressure are over Odisha on Friday morning. It moves northeastward on Friday and reaches over North Eastern India on Saturday morning. The cyclonic circulation and related low will produce heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms over North Eastern India on Friday and Saturday and then weaken.
24 hours precipitation accumulation of over 100mm is possible over Eastern and North Eastern India on Friday and over North Eastern India on Saturday.

- Widespread rain and thunderstorms: Interior Karnataka.
- Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms: Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
- Scattered rain and thunderstorms: Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- Isolated rain and thunderstorms: East Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

The Cyclonic Storm over the Arabian Sea moves west-northwestward toward Oman this weekend into next week.
An anti-cyclonic circulation is over Rajasthan and adjoining region, and dry weather is likely over Northern and Central India for the next 5 days.
On Saturday, heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and coastal Karnataka. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa and Kerala.
Widespread rain and thunderstorms are possible over interior Karnataka. Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms have been forecast over Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely over West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Isolated rain and thunderstorms are possible over Sikkim, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
