The Western Disturbance (WD) is located over Northern India on Friday morning. The disturbance and the related cyclonic circulation will affect Northern and Central India.
The WD will produce heavy snow or rain and thunderstorm or hailstorm over Northern and North Central India, and heavy rain and thunderstorms over Northern and Central India on Friday. Heavy snow or rain and thunderstorms or hailstorms are likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Friday. 24-hour total precipitation of 30mm to 50mm is possible and 24-hour total snowfall of 30cm to 80cm is possible over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until Saturday early morning. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The WD will move away in the eastern direction and weaken on Saturday.
Dense fog is likely over North Rajasthan on Friday, over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, and over North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
The Northeast Monsoon will bring isolated to scattered rain and thunderstorms over Southern India for the next five days. Heavy rain and thunderstorm are likely over Tamil Nadu on Friday.
Max temperatures will be lower than average over Northern, North Western and North Central India for the next five days. Max temperatures over Southern and North Eastern India will be slightly higher than average. Min temperatures are likely to be higher than average over all India on Friday. Min temperatures over Northern India will go down under average from Saturday.
Air quality will be poor or very poor across all India, especially in major cities like Delhi. Air quality of Delhi will be unhealthy to very unhealthy on Friday. However, it is expected to improve due to the rain this weekend.
Friday - Regional Forecast
Heavy snow/rain and thunderstorms/hail storms are likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Heavy rain and thunderstorm are expected over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Scattered rain and thunderstorms are possible over Bihar and east Madhya Pradesh.
Isolated snow/rain has been forecast over Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Isolated rain is possible over Jharkhand, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Dry weather is likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Saturday - Regional Forecast
Scattered snow/rain is likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.
Isolated snow/rain has been forecast over Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Isolated rain is possible over Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, east Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Dry weather is likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
