A well marked low pressure area and related cyclonic circulation is over southeast Bay of Bengal on Friday morning. Widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands from Thursday to Sunday. Heavy rainfall is predicted over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on Friday and Saturday. The low pressure is expected to become, depression over the central Bay of Bengal today and will intensify into cyclonic storm over southwest, Bay of Bengal and adjoining area on Saturday. It could move northwestward until Sunday and then turn northward or north-northeastward toward north Bay of Bengal from Sunday.

A cyclonic circulation is over North Eastern India and southerly winds from Bay of Bengal will bring humid air into North Eastern India for the next five days. Scattered to widespread precipitation and thunderstorms are likely over North Eastern India in this period. Heavy rainfall is possible over Assam, Meghalaya on Friday and Saturday and over Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.

Trough and wind convergence between northwesterly winds and easterly winds from Bay of Bengal are over Southern India in this period. Scattered to widespread rain and thunderstorms are predicted over Southern India in this period. Heavy rainfall is likely over coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep on Friday, over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Kerala on Saturday and over Kerala on Monday.

The western disturbance will bring scattered to fairly widespread precipitation and thunderstorm over Western Himalayan Region and isolated rain over plain area of Northern India on Friday.

Dry weather is likely over Gujarat from Thursday onward. Dry weather is expected over Northern India and Central India from Saturday onward.

Maximum temperature of 40°C or more is possible over Northern India, Western India, Eastern India, Central India and Southern India in this period.

Maximum temperatures will be 1°C to 4°C or less lower than average over north and east India in this period. Minimum temperatures are slightly cooler than normal over North India, Central India and Eastern India in this period. Minimum temperatures are near average or slightly warmer than normal over Western India and Southern India.

Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are possible over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Scattered rain/snow and thunderstorms are likely over Himachal Pradesh.

Isolated rain is possible over West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

Dry weather is likely over east Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

Maximum temperatures of 40 degree Celsius or more is possible over some places of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Saturday

Heavy rainfall is likely over Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Kerala.

Widespread rain and thunderstorms are possible over Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Fairly widespread rain/snow and thunderstorms are predicted over Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh and interior Karnataka.

Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over Telangana.

Isolated rain/snow is possible over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.

Isolated rain is likely over West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.

Dry weather is expected over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
