5-Day Nationwide Weather Forecast

Amphan, which was a Super Cyclonic Storm on the Bay of Bengal four days ago, will soon gradually dissipates in Northeastern India after tracking over West Bengal and Bangladesh.

However, locally heavier downpours across the mountain regions from Meghalaya to Arunachal Pradesh are still possible through this forecast period. Additional 100 mm rain totals are likely over the region for the next five days, and they could possible reach 500 mm in localised areas. Daily downpours can result in flash flooding, mudslides, and rockfalls.

The majority of Gangetic West Bengal, including Kolkata, will be dry.

Kerala and the adjoining areas will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms due to a trough and wind convergence during this forecast period. Isolated heavy falls are possible.

A feeble Western Disturbance will likely affect the western Himalayan region on Saturday before drying out on Sunday.

Southwest Monsoon has advanced into some parts of south Bay of Bengal, Nicobar Islands, and Andaman Sea between May 17-22.

Maximum temperatures will be 2°C to 8°C warmer than normal in Maharashtra and the adjoining areas. Severe heat wave conditions are very likely over northwestern Rajasthan from Monday onwards.
