Heavy Rainfall Likely over Interior Karnataka

Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some areas of Maldives-Comorin, south Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

A low pressure area and related cyclonic circulation are forecast to form over southeast Arabian Sea on Saturday night or Sunday morning and it is very likely to intensify into depression over south east Arabian Sea. The depression might develop and move northwestward over Arabian Sea next week because Sea Surface Temperatures are more than 30, which covers southeast and east-central Arabian Sea and upper level winds weak over Arabian Sea.

Trough and cyclonic circulation are over Southern India in this period. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Kerala and Karnataka from Friday onward. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted over interior Karnataka on Friday and over Kerala & Lakshadweep on Saturday & Sunday. Heavy rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands on Friday, over Karnataka on Saturday & Sunday and over coastal Karnataka & Kerala on Monday.

A cyclonic circulation is over North Eastern India and southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal brings humid air into North Eastern India and Eastern India in this forecast period. Fairly widespread to widespread precipitation and thunderstorms are likely over North Eastern India and adjoining area for the duration. Heavy rainfall is likely over West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya on Friday. Heavy rainfall is predicted over Odisha on Sunday. Heavy rainfall is possible over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya on Monday.

The western disturbance and related cyclonic circulation is over Pakistan and adjoining area on Friday morning. The western disturbance brings scattered to fairly widespread precipitation and thunderstorm over Northern India from Friday to Sunday.

Heatwave conditions are predicted over Telangana on Friday. Temperatures gradually go down all over India in this forecast period. Hot area gradually decrease in this period.

Maximum temperatures of 45 degree Celsius or more is possible over Rajasthan on Friday and Saturday.

Maximum temperatures are cooler than average over Northern India, north Central India, Eastern India and North Eastern India in this period. Maximum temperatures are warmer than average over Western India and Southern India until Sunday.

Minimum temperatures will be cooler than normal over Northern India, north Central India and Eastern India in this period. Minimum temperatures are near normal or slightly warmer than normal over Southern India and Western India.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over interior Karnataka. Heavy rainfall is expected over West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over east Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Fairly widespread rain/snow and thunderstorms are predicted over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Sikkim. Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, interior Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Scattered rain/snow and thunderstorms are possible over Arunachal Pradesh. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are predicted over Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka.

Dry weather is likely over interior Maharashtra.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Kerala and Lakshadweep. Heavy rainfall is expected over Karnataka.

Widespread rain and thunderstorms are predicted over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Fairly widespread rain/snow and thunderstorms are predicted over Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Scattered rain and thunderstorms are possible over Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, coastal Maharashtra and Goa.
