Thanks for doing this! I was just doing some research on this earlier and found “Jemils big easy” in Delridge. https://intentionalist.com/b/jemils-big-easy/

    • WSB June 3, 2020 (11:18 pm)

That’s a food truck so I didn’t include it, although they’re working out of KBM on Delridge at least part of the time, will check further.

Are they available for dinner – or only for catering – from their website it looked like only for catering…

    Sanar Massage in White Center

Here’s a Google Map with black-owned restaurants, WS included https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1Iy0hvzPuCBoGJECbHG2hJOFOyA9HDypm&ll=47.58063180710788%2C-122.3337095494392&z=13

I’d like to see food trucks, White Center, and Georgetown included.

Dr. Jones at West Seattle Animal Hospital is wonderful.

    • Tracie June 12, 2020 (6:00 pm)

West Seattle Animal Hospital is the best and so caring.   Lost a fur baby a couple weeks ago and got a card signed by all of the staff there. 😿😿

      • waikikigirl June 12, 2020 (6:26 pm)

So sorry for your loss Tracie…we had to say goodbye to our Bean last December and still miss him so much.

  • Beanie June 4, 2020 (7:35 am)

Thank you for putting this together!

  • Sunflower June 4, 2020 (8:12 am)

This is great, thanks WSB. I hope to see this grow, and looking forward to checking out some new places in WS!

  • WS Thrives June 4, 2020 (8:22 am)

Heartfelt thanks to WSB for this list — and the underlying focus to INVEST in Black Lives!

  • Bonnie June 4, 2020 (8:22 am)

Really wish West Seattle Fish House would reopen. They are missed.

I usually cut my own hair, but if I want to get it done professionally, I always go to Platinum Cuts! Shoutout to owner Keith for taking me as a walk in and giving me the perfect low fade.

Hot Chocolat has some amazing looking treats. Wow! Did not know about this place.

  • WS Resident June 4, 2020 (11:29 am)

A Kids Place Too is the most amazing dentist office for little ones! Highly recommend.

  • Cynthia Jackson June 4, 2020 (12:26 pm)

This is an important list, especially as we all work to rebuild  and nourish our community. An addition to the list. Good Day Donuts in White Center is black owned.

    • Rob B June 4, 2020 (7:48 pm)

Good day donuts is my favorite in all of Seattle!!

      • Rory June 9, 2020 (11:46 am)

Not saying not to support but just for clarity Good day is not black owned..  Also, they do not appear to be open today. I came by to grab some donuts.

    Pot pie factory!

    • Margaret June 19, 2020 (4:36 pm)

Pot Pie Factory is SO Yummy!!!  Worth the wait between order day and pick up day!

  • Anonymous June 4, 2020 (12:47 pm)

This is a fine example of West Seattle’s White privilege; it takes nation-wide riots and protests for residents to realize they didn’t have a local list of Black owned restaurants to support. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice can be applied to every-day actions. Please check yourselves.

I took a macaron-making class from Hot Chocolat last year, and it was great. Thumbs up! And thank you, WSB, for developing the list.

  • Bernadette Smith June 4, 2020 (6:16 pm)

Hi! I’m Bernadette and I own and operate Swatch Junkie Creative, a minority woman owned boutique web design agency.

    • WSB June 5, 2020 (12:49 am)

Are you in West Seattle? I can’t tell from your website.

      • Sunflower June 5, 2020 (6:55 am)

WSB, I’ve been wondering if we might be able to expand this list or have an additional list for beyond WS, to include businesses in other Seattle neighborhoods?

Yesterday I was thinking a lot about how short this list is, and how it’s an example of the opportunity disparity in our country.  I’d like to see more on the list, but understand if too big a project. Thanks for considering.

  • ScubaFrog June 4, 2020 (7:30 pm)

    Very cool WSB  <3

  • Timothy Goss June 4, 2020 (7:37 pm)

How ’bout Richard Sherman’s Wingstop at Westwood Village

    • WSB June 4, 2020 (9:38 pm)

Thanks! That was on my draft list in fact and somehow it got lost between drafts. Adding.

  • Carmen June 4, 2020 (8:03 pm)

Beer Star (though it’s not open right now). One of my faves!

https://www.potpiefactory.coAmazing Pot Pies!  Pick up across the street from West Seattle YMCA – We tried “the classic” for the kids, and the “thai seafood curry” for the grown ups.  One pie is either enough to feed one very hungry adult, or could be split into two if you have some extra sides.

Doctor Glenn Johnson at West Seattle Animal Hospital has such a nice mix of kindness and compassion while still getting the job done in an efficient manner.  I have been going there for over 14 years and have enjoyed every doctor and staff member in the process. This is a good business to support!

Sorry, comment time is over.
