Maine couple accused of operating meth lab

STANDISH (WGME) -- A Standish couple is accused of operating a meth lab inside their home where they lived with their four children.

The Portland Press Herald reports the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency found evidence of a meth manufacturing operation at 12 Maple Ridge Drive.

Authorities arrested 34-year-old Jeffrey Makela, and his wife, 32-year-old Nicole Makela.

Their children, a 3-week-old baby, a 15-month-old boy, and two young girls, were brought into protective custody.

Jeffrey Makela is being held without bail at the Cumberland County Jail.

The Portland Press Herald reports Makela had been out on bail for operating a meth lab in Portland.

Nicole Makela is being held at the jail on $5,000 cash bail.
