Ph’East, a food hall with Asian eateries only, is gearing up for its build-out in The Battery Atlanta.
It is set to open in the fall, Seven Chan, founder of Ph’East tenants Poke Burri and Lifting Noodles, in a telephone interview Monday told What Now Atlanta.
Chan, who launched Poke Burri and Lifting Noodles out of We Suki Suki in East Atlanta Village, helped develop the Ph’East concept after scouting space in The Battery Atlanta.
He wanted to open Poke Burri and Lifting Noodles in the development adjacent SunTrust Stadium, but the available spaces were too large, he said.
“Our concepts only require about 500 square feet,” Chan said.
“So instead of accepting that we couldn’t open in The Battery Atlanta, we turned what was impossible to possible with the creation of Ph’East.”
Chan coordinated the investments and leases need to fill the entire food hall, he said.
Additional tenants include SnackBoxe Bistro and Kung Fu Tea, leaving one available space.
Prep Atlanta is the key investor and is managing the building and design.
“We want to be different from what you see at Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market,” Chan said.
“We’re looking to build a community and not just be a food hall but rather a destination with experiences and activities.”
Ph’East will offer an “Asian street market feel with a modern twist” once complete.
The new Poke Burri and Lifting Noodles will be franchise locations.
Earl Jenkins and Neal Patel are the franchisees, respectively.
Chan is opening at least two additional Poke Burri locations before the end of 2019.
The first, a one-year pop-up, will open May 1 inside Truck and Tap in Alpharetta.
For the pop-up, Chan is launching a late night menu as well as a “secret” menu that will only be available at Truck and Tap.
An outpost is also planned for The Coda in Midtown and Chan is scouting Old Fourth Ward, Perimeter, and Buckhead for future locations.
