JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men connected to a June 14 kidnapping investigation.
Officials arrested Mark Alan Byers, 51, on June 14. Over the weekend, authorities arrested Jerry Clayton Grider, 43, from Fort Payne in Georgia.
Investigators stated the 49-year-old victim was taken from his home to another house in Henegar before he escaped Friday morning.
Byers was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and second-degree assault.
Grider was charged with kidnapping, second-degree assault, and burglary.
Both men are being held in the Jackson County Jail on $100,000 bond each.
