MADISON, Ala. – Crews responded to an apartment fire early Wednesday.
The call came in just before 1:00 a.m. to the Magnolia Pointe at Madison complex on Madison Pike. According to Madison Fire and Rescue, people living in 16 units will be displaced.
A resident who lived at the damaged building said she could be moving to a brand new unit.
“My roommate didn’t tell me how bad it was,” said Morgan Dubaz. “I wasn’t expecting the entire thing to just be gone.”
No humans were injured but the fire killed one dog.
Madison Fire and Rescue have ruled the fire accidental but the cause is unknown.

In a post on Horizon Elementary School ‘s Facebook page, Principal Rodney Richardson said the following:
“As many of you are aware, there was an apartment fire at Magnolia Pointe apartments early this morning. Fortunately, nobody was injured. Horizon Elementary has 13 students displaced by the fire.
There has been an outpouring of concern and offers to help from the Horizon community. We have conducted a needs assessment for each family. If you would like to donate via cash, check or money order, please make payable to Madison City Schools. You may send this into your child’s teacher in a sealed envelope marked Fire Relief.”
