Thankfully the rain is over! More is in the forecast tonight into Thursday!

Rainfall through Tuesday night had been most significant from near the Tennessee River southward into Central Alabama:

  • 3.49″ at Forney (Cherokee Co.)
  • 3.22″ at Weiss Dam (Cherokee Co.)
  • 2.36″ in Sardis City (Etowah Co.)
  • 2.01″ in Hodges (Franklin Co., Ala.)
  • 1.93″ in Albertville (Marshall Co.)
  • 1.85″ in South Decatur (Morgan Co.)
  • 1.78″ at Spring Branch near John Hunt Park in Huntsville
  • 1.59″ on Dug Hill Road (Madison Co.)
  • 1.35″ in Athens (Limestone Co.)
  • 1.32″ at Huntsville International

Drying out

Cooler and drier air continues to filter in. We are in the middle 40s early, but wind chills are in the 30s. We only see lower to middle 50s this afternoon with a gusty northeast wind. Some sun is possible, but it won’t last. Rain returns tonight into Thursday.
