Fairview Library Book Sale Underway

Is your summer stash of books depleted? It’s time to replenish for cooler days ahead at the Friends of the Fairview Public Library Book Sale. The sale began Thursday and continues Friday and Saturday August 23-24. There are more than 5,000 books to choose for all ages and interest levels.

“We will be hosting the book sale at the Fairview Public Library. It returned to the library in February after a decade of being held at the Rec Center. We had to make a few adjustments due to the size difference, but our patrons seemed to like it,” explained Cheryl Hamilton, President of the Friends of the Fairview Library. “It also gives us the chance to showcase our wonderful library.”

The biannual sales are the largest fundraisers held by the Friends group. The sale in February raised $1,600 that was used in part to purchase new roller shades for the windows in the main part of the library to match the newer blinds in the Meeting Room.

If you have questions about volunteering to help at the book sale or about the sale itself, email the Friends at [email protected] or check out their Facebook page.
The book sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, August 23, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 24. Guests can enter through the front doors at the Fairview Public Library, 2240 Fairview Boulevard.
