ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — According to a press release from the Buncombe County District Attorney's Office, Tyshawn Boseman pleaded guilty to multiple felonies, including charges stemming from a shooting incident in 2017 at Green's Mini Mart.
On Oct. 28, Boseman, age 21, of Fairview, was convicted of the following:
- Felony Possession of Sch. I
- Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Inury
- two counts of Possession of a Firearm by Felon
- Selling Cocaine and PWISD Cocaine
He will serve a minimum term of almost six years in prison.
The following incidents led up to the conviction:
- Dec. 8, 2016: Asheville Police Department officers located Boseman in a stolen vehicle. After searching the vehicle, officers found a small amount of heroin under the driver's seat.
- Feb. 8, 2017: Members of the Drug Suppression Unit purchased crack cocaine from Boseman through an undercover officer in Hillcrest Apartments.
- Feb. 9, 2017: Boseman was involved in a shooting incident at Green's Mini Mart in Asheville. The victim had serious, but non-fatal injuries, and a lengthy hospitalization.
- Feb. 25, 2017: As officers were trying to locate Boseman in relation to the previous Feb. 9 shooting, Boseman was observed in Hillcrest Apartments carrying a handgun. Officers stopped a vehicle that he was a passenger in and located the firearm on another passenger.
Boseman had prior convictions for attempted common law robbery and other charges.
