Trenton High Celebrated Seniors with Massive Display

Trenton Central High School decorated the school's lawn with over 400 colorful signs to celebrate the hard work and achievements of their graduating Class of 2020, according to Community News.

Wow. What an awesome sight. The display sent a message of love and support to its students, a message that I'm sure was much needed and appreciated during these challenging times.

Trenton Central High School was the first school in the area that made such a massive statement, and I couldn't love it more. It's powerful and emotional to see all the faces of the graduates. It was almost like they were sitting there at a live graduation.

Every lawn sign has a graduating senior's picture on it, the school's logo, and says "Congratulations Class of 2020."  The Mayor of Trenton, W. Reed Gusciora, Trenton Central principal, Hope Grant, and the TCHS Alumni Association president, Maria Jones, placed the signs carefully around the schools grounds to honor those who missed out on so many special moments this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mayor Gusciora said in a press release, “We felt strongly about finding a way to publicly honor the graduating class of 2020; to let them know that the city, school and their leaders are proud of them and their accomplishments and that we wish them well as they begin a new phase of their personal and educational lives. These students are the future and will help us rebound from the economic challenges caused by the pandemic.”

Now that Governor Murphy has announced that outdoor, in-person graduations can take place, with restrictions, starting July 6th, I wonder if Trenton Central will plan for one. I'm really hoping these seniors can have their moment to shine. They all so deserve it.
