MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two children were killed and three other people seriously injured following a two-car crash in southeast Memphis.

According to police, the wreck happened around 9 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Riverdale and Rockingham.

Two children, identified as 6-year-old Dallas Agnew and 13-year-old Skylar Johnson, were killed. Two adults and another boy were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Neighbors said the intersection is known for being dangerous, and something needs to be done. For Harrison Ketchum, the losses expose a deep-rooted issue at Riverdale and Rockingham.

“Takes a while for it to set in on you,” he said. “Last year, they ran into the corner there of the house. When I got here, she was inside of the house, almost.”

Ketchum said the issue needs to be resolved before more lives are lost.

“Slow them down, put a red light here or something,” he said.

As Ketchum tries to clean up the mess left behind, he can’t help thinking about the other three people recovering after the two-car crash.

“Prayers with them,” he said. “I hope they survive.”

Police haven’t said whether speed was a factor in this crash, but a homeowner WREG talked with thinks that is the underlying the issue here.
