MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police say a man was shot outside of a southwest Memphis store.

Police say the victim was shot outside of the Western Park Food Market on South Third Street. Investigators got to the mini mart just before 5pm.

The victim went to the hospital in critical condition.

Rosalind Moore says she was walking into a hardware store across the street when the bullets started flying.

“I’ve never been so shaken in my life,” she said, “There were cars with children in it along the store. There were customers.”

Watching from across the way, Moore called her husband Stevie in a panic.

“And I’m saying you what?! And so I rushed down here,” Stevie Moore said.

As it happens, Stevie Moore is an avid anti-gun violence advocate in Memphis.

After he checked on his wife, both of them got to work putting up signs for an anonymous tip line he recently created to help officers solve crimes. Moore will relay the information to police.

He hopes someone will say something about the shooting at the mini mart because investigators say they haven’t tracked down any suspect information.

“Somebody know something,” Moore said, “How can a shooting be in this time of day, sun is bright, and nobody know anything about it?”

Police have not identified the victim.

Moore’s tip line number is 901-417-7361.
