An infant in Arizona has died after being found unresponsive inside a car

WASHINGTON (SBG) -- A one and a half year old girl has passed away after police found the infant unresponsive inside a car, KNXV reports.

The infant's father reportedly contacted the police but it is unknown if he actually discovered his daughter's body. Police in Glendale, Arizona say the incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. local time, according to KNXV.

It is unknown how the infant was left in the car, whether the vehicle was on or off or how long the infant remained in the vehicle before passing away.

Fox 10 Phoenix reports the child was pronounced dead after arriving inside the hospital for treatment.
