Listen up burger aficionados, the owner of New Orleans’ storied Port of Call has reversed course.

He’s not throwing in the towel as previously announced.

When we last looked in on proprietor Mike Mollere, he was disappointed with the new rules at curbing Coronavirus.

Port of Call had reopened after closing in March.  Now serving food and drinks to go, the city introduced new rules again tightening the serving of alcohol.  The announcement was made the day Port of Call reopened.

On the same day Mollere decided he was going to shutter Port of Call again for the second time.

But instead of going out with whimper, Mollere had a change of mind and decided to push through the new demands and keep the half century old eatery open.

The latest iteration of Port of Call will feature outdoor dining with picnic tables and table service of to-go food.

Though Port of Call is only open Friday through Sunday from noon-to-eight, Mollere tells the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate he is considering expanding hours and days.
