LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police tell 10/11 NOW a suspect is in custody after a shooting in Northeast Lincoln.

LPD originally responded to a reported shooting at a home near 56th and Benton Streets, just before 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

Police say the victim, who was transported by paramedics with Lincoln Fire & Rescue, is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. It’s not yet known how many times he was shot.

LPD says the incident stemmed from a domestic disturbance between family members at the home. That’s when 18-year-old Alex Hernandez shot the victim at least once, according to police. They later arrested Hernandez and charged him with second-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
