Law enforcement has made an arrest in a deadly shooting that brought multiple agencies to the small Iowa town of Shenandoah on Monday.

Toby McCunn, 34, has been charged with first-degree murder after police found a body at a call about a shooting.

Those who called in the shooting around 4 a.m. identified McCunn as the shooter, leading law enforcement to locate the man and arrest him around 2 p.m.

The shooting happened near Manti St. and Nishna Rd.

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Joshua Jordan.

A local woman told our sister station WOWT 6 News that her friend had been killed by the suspected gunman.

"He was a really good guy. He was always there for anybody. He helped my mom fix her house up. They were really good friends. I hope they really figure out everything. He's got a son," the woman said.

McCunn was transported to the hospital for a leg injury but later taken to the Page County Correctional Facility.

Criminal investigators told WOWT 6 News that they are collecting evidence from multiple scenes, including the garage of a home near Elm St. and Fifth St.

In addition to officers with the Shenandoah Police Department, the Page County Sheriff’s Office, the Page County Attorney’s Office, Red Oak Police Department, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, the Mills County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s Iowa State Patrol and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation all worked on the case.
