Lincoln Police have arrested a 37-year-old man reportedly tied to an attempted kidnapping at Lakeview Park on May 14 for child abuse and possession of child pornography.

LPD said Bilal Amin, 37, was arrested during a traffic stop on May 27.

According to police, Amin had a warrant out for shoplifting, and after the traffic stop, authorities got a warrant to search his phone.

LPD said investigators found a video of a 10-year-old girl on the phone, taken at Lakeview Park.

Amin was charged with felony child abuse and possession of child pornography on May 29.

Police believe Amin was the person responsible for an attempted kidnapping on May 14, where a young child reported a man grabbed her and pulled her into his arms.

According to LPD, when Amin pulled the girl into his arms, he pulled down her shirt and leggings and took a video.

The young girl was able to escape, and multiple neighbors came to help before Amin ran from the area.

Amin is also a registered sex offender, according to the State of Nebraska database. He was previously charged with sexual assault of a child.
