Lincoln Fire and Rescue is investigating the cause of a fire early Friday morning.

Crews were called out at 1:41 a.m. to a home on Madalyn Road near Stephanie Lane. That's northwest of 56th and Pine Lake.

LFR said there was light smoke in the garage and firefighters found flames in the basement but were able to quickly put it out.

Everyone in the home and their pets made it out safely, firefighters crediting the use of smoke detectors. LFR said the two people who live there are displaced.

Firefighters said there's no structural damage to home but there is significant smoke damage.

The response time for crews getting to this home was two and a half minutes, according to LFR, because of the newly opened Station 15.

Firefighters are working to determine what caused the fire and the amount of damage that was done.
