WHERE SOME RESIDENTS ON THE SOUTH PORTION OF THE WASHINGTON WATER AUTHORITY SYSTEM MAY BE TEMPORARILY WITHOUT WATER, BUT CREWS ARE IN THE PROCESS OF REPAIRING THE LINE. THE WATER AUTHORITY SAYS THE FLOODING WASHED A MAIN LINE OUT INTO THE ILLINOIS RIVER. ONE PRARIE GROVE RESIDENT SAYS HE NOTICED HIS WATER PRESSURE WAS LOWER THAN USUAL A COUPLE HOURS AGO...WHEN HE TRIED TO TURN THE WATER ON AROUND 8:30 NO WATER CAME OUT OF HIS FAUCET. In the morning that might be problematic getting ready for work and breakfast and everything. I'm assuming they're aware of it and hopefully they'll have it back shortly. WASHINGTON WATER AUTHORITY IS ASKING ALL CUSTOMERS SOUTH OF FARMINGTON AND FAYETTEVILLE TO CONSERVE THEIR WATER. IT IS ASKING PEOPLE TO USE THEIR WATER WITH CAUTION, ONLY USING IT FOR NECESSITIES LIKE DRINKING AND BATHING. REPORTING LIVE IN PRARIE GROVE

UPDATE: MONDAY, JUNE 24, 2019:A boil order was issued for part of the Washington Water Authority System due to a main transmission line washout near Prairie Grove.This is in effect for all customers in the south, southwest and southeast Washington County area.Customers must be advised that water may be unsafe for human consumption. All water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.Original article from Sunday continues below:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Some Washington Water Authority customers are without water, while crews repair a water main break just south of Farmington.The Washington Water Authority has an alert on their website, stating they are in the process of repairing the distribution line, and that residents on the south portion of the system may temporarily be without water.Prairie Grove Mayor Sonny Hudson told 40/29 News that they were alerted to the leak, because they use Washington Water Authority tanks as a back up on weekends. He says they switched the system over to their tanks, and no Prairie Grove water customers should be impacted.40/29 News has reached out to the Washington Water Authority for more information.
