Two arrested after Springdale burglary
UPDATE:
A third person was arrested in connection to a investigation into a shooting and chase with police. Springdale police confirmed Billson Andrike was arrested on a fleeing charge.
In a press release, Lt. Taylor said on Monday July 8 around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call of people breaking and entering into cars, in the Kimberly Place neighborhood.
The release says, as officers were en route to the scene, the suspects took off in a 2015 blue Ford Explorer.
The 911 caller followed the suspects. During the chase, police say the occupants of the blue Ford Explorer fired two shots at the 911 caller.
The caller pulled over, and the suspects continued southbound on 40th Street from Wagon Wheel.
Police tell 40/29 at about 1:56 a.m. on July 8, an officer saw the suspect vehicle turn south on 48th Street, from Sunset Avenue. The officer tried to pull over the suspect car, but police say the driver did not stop.
"We tried to make a traffic stop on it. They refused to stop, so we got in pursuit of the vehicle and they wrecked out on the corner of 48th and Celeste Drive," Lt. Taylor said.
Lt. Taylor said a chase began, and ended with the suspect vehicle crashing into a ditch near the intersection of 48th and Celeste Drive.
After the SUV wrecked, police say four people ran from the car. Two men were arrested at the scene and two other males got away.
One of the males that ran away was identified as 21-year-old Billson Andereke, he is facing charges for flight from an officer.
A 16-year-old juvenile was also arrested and is being charged with curfew violation.
Lt. Taylor said it isn't uncommon to see a rise in juvenile crimes in the summer.
"We see an uptick in juvenile activity, especially in the summer when school is out," he said. "People get out and about and they do things."
The suspect vehicle was not reported stolen and no weapon has been recovered at this time.
Lt. Taylor said he knows who the owner of the Ford Explorer is, but he is not releasing that person's name at this time.
