Antrim Charity Shop Targeted In 'Senseless' Arson Attack

Police in Antrim have slammed an arson attack on a charity shop as "senseless" and issued an appeal for witnesses.

The Hospice Shop in Antrim town's Castle Mall was targeted on Thursday evening, 21 March.

Police said they suspect that someone left bags of clothing for donation outside, which have later been set alight.

The arson caused considerable damage to the shop and will affect the services and support that the charity shop provides, according to a PSNI spokesperson.

"I would ask anyone who considers these actions appropriate to reconsider and think about the consequences of senseless acts like this," they added.

Anyone with information is urged to contact officers on 101 quoting reference number 1347 of 21/03/2019.
