RENO, Nev. (KLAS) — Reno’s citywide curfew was lifted at 6 a.m. Sunday, following violent protests and Governor Sisolak’s activation of the Nevada National Guard Saturday evening. In a tweet, Gov. Sisolak said the activation was in response to “circumstances going on in Reno and at the request of local leaders.”

Videos surfaced throughout the day Saturday of people breaking into government buildings in Reno. Sisolak did not mention Las Vegas in his tweet.

“The Nevada National Guard is trained and ready to support the community,” said Maj. Gen. Ondra Berry, Nevada National Guard Adjutant General. “We will support local law enforcement to ensure public safety for as long as needed.”

The cities of Reno and Sparks, along with Washoe County, issued curfews for the remainder of the evening of Saturday, May 30.
