A local pastor is working hard to make sure children have access to books year-round.

Reverend James Lyles, who did not learn to read until he was 29-years-old, is teaming up with local businesses to make creative mini-libraries for kids in the Harrisburg region in an effort to get them to read more frequently.

“It’s a team effort,” says Lyle. “Businesses sponsor some of the mini libraries; some will send their business logo or describe the theme that they want on the box.”

Reverend Lyles is also using the boxes to provide important information on issues important to the community, like fighting addiction.
